Todays card of the day is 6 Swords. Todays rune is dagaz
The 6 of swords is about crossing over, putting turmoil behind me and journeying to calmer shores. Dagaz is the rune of the dawn, suggesting I will wake up to a clearer perspective & will be able to see the path to these calmer shores.

First Daily post of the New Year

I received runes from my friend for Christmas, they are extra special as she made them herself :) I am going to couple them with my daily card draw, to add extra insight and info.

Todays Card of the Day was The Lovers, the rune was algiz

The Lovers signifies new paths and the choices we make. Do we choose to follow the path to the things we love? Or choose the path that points towards a better career? Do we pick the easy path, or the more beneficial harder path?
The rune algiz is about protection, joined with the Lovers it is telling me that whatever path I choose to take today, I will be protected and all will be well.

End of day review:
I had a music lesson today, and we are coming to the end of my 'learn as you play' book. The big question is where to go after this? Do I learn a few 'proper' songs, which would be good, but limits the skills I will use & I'm worried I will lose or forget the rest? Or do I do more theory? Learning skills, but no long set pieces.
As I already have a music book of ballads with a 'play along' accompany CD, I think I will go for this option, I've had a little play with it already, but it would be great to be able to play the songs better.
The rune algiz points to protection in my choice, whatever I choose to do I will still be playing, and that is the most important point.

Todays card of the day is the King of PentaclesThe King of Pents is very stable and responsible, although he can be a little materialistic. He is also very supportive and reliable.
Today I must be practical and have a no-nonsense approach to anything that comes my way, I must not let my emotions rule.

23/10/09 ~ 10 of Wands

Todays card of the day is 10 of WandsThis card is warning me that I am over burdening myself with work and uncompleted tasks. Like the man on the card am carrying so many tasks that I can't see where I am going. I need to finish and drop somethings to make it easier on myself.
10's are generally good cards, as they signify endings. If I complete some of my work I won't feel so pressured and overworked.

21/10/09 ~ Page of Pentacles

Todays card of the day is the Page of PentaclesIn the simplest interpretation Pages mean messages, and pents signify either money or health.
A more indepth interpretation is that I need to have realistic aims, and a more practical approach to my goals. It is a time to look out for new opportunitys and begin new projects. Focus is the key to progress.

20/10/09 ~ The Hermit

Todays card of the day is the Hermit
This card is all about looking inside. It's time to take a step back, isolate myself and do some meditation. I need to clear my mind of all the crazy jumbled up thoughts and take a mental deep breath.
The Hermit is holding a lantern, showing that solitude and quietness will light the way.

End of the Day review:
I did lots of thinking today, about myself and how I can adapt and improve. I was probably a little less open and chatty than usual, but I was good to think about me for a change.

Todays card of the day is The Tower
This card is about an unexpected revelation. It symbolises the sudden breakdown of beliefs and what you believe to be true. Your walls come crashing down, but it does leave a clear space to start building anew.
The Tower teaches us that we have to learn to adapt quickly to changing circumstances.

This card is all about exploring. It's time to start the journey, but only with careful planning. The man on the card is standing on a high hill, he can see all around him and can take the right path.

Todays card of the day is the StarThis card symbolises the forces which guide us, like sailors who used to use the stars to guide their way home I need to be checking my direction through life.
It is time to trust in my instincts and create my own opportunities.

Todays card of the day is 4 of WandsThis card is about foundations. This card always reminds me of a wedding alter (especially with the two people throwing flowers) or the posts in place ready to start building the foundations of a house. The card is a good card, it promises joy and celebrations, domestic harmony and being free.

Todays card of the day is Queen of Pents
The Queen of Pents is all about nurturing and sensitivity. She is dependable, warm-hearted and generous. She may be telling me to concentrate on my giving side today, and to look after myself and others.

20/07/09 ~ Six Pentacles

Todays card of the day is 6 of Pentacles
The sixes are all about balance. The 6 of Pents is about restoring balance and karma, giving to receive. The man on the card is giving money to the poor to make his scales balance.
It is also a card of power and choice. The man has power over the poor, and he has the money and can use it to rule them. He can also choose who to give the money too.
The card also asks us, are we the rich man who has the ability to give and balance out his life, or are we the poor man?

End of day review:
My day was balanced yesterday, I spent half of it slobbing around in my pajamas, then the last half was more active. I went out for a run, and took Shadow (my doberman) to her obedience class. She is getting better slowly, but I need to put more time in, and keep up the training at home, to get more results.

18/07/09 ~ The Chariot

Todays card of the day is the ChariotThis card is all about direction and strength of will. The two beasts pull the chariot on opposite directions, you need strength to pull them the direction you want to go.
The chariot on this card is stationary at the moment, it suggests movement, but movement that isn't happening yet, and will be coming soon.
This card is also interesting today, because it can simply signify a journey, and tonight me and my partner are driving up to see my brother!

End of day review:
Directions directions!! We used the satnav to find the way to my brothers, and while he advised us to program it to the fastest route, my partner kept flicking between the fastest and the shortest to try to find the best way. Especially when we hit an accident on the motorway and were stopped still for 10 mins, she thought of leaving the motorway and trying to catch up time on the A roads. Luckily it cleared and we made up good time.

17/07/09 ~ King of Swords

Todays card of the day is King of SwordsAgain!!! What is it with the King of Swords!! More talking, more problem solving today :)

End of day review:
Another day of problems! My partner had taken her car in for a service, and as she was at work I went to pick it up. It needed new brake disks & pads and cost her a lot more than she was expecting. When I rang her up tell her how much it cost she took it out on me.
I also had my sax lesson today, I'm still having difficulty getting the beats right, so more communication and discussion on how to get it right.
Then I popped round to see my granma for a spontaneous cuppa and a chat.

Todays card of the day is King of SwordsI had this card the other day, the King definitely has a message for me. Today I must express my views and talk and articulate!

End of day review:
Lots of talking today, lots of problem solving. I made a box for my tarot cards and was trying to work out the best way of making it work. I also had my friend round and we were putting the world to rights and trying to organise details for a trip on Monday.
Then I went to bed and couldn't sleep as I was thinking and creating (in my head) Christmas presents for friends and family this year. I was talking it through with my partner, who gave me lots of great ideas.
Very apt card today.

Todays card of the day is strengthStrength is all about inner strength, controlling your emotions and feelings and overcoming your fears and challenges.

End of day review:
There was nothing specific that came up to challenge me, but I had the card in my head all day and when something niggled at me it enabled me to take a deep breath and calm myself.

13/07/09 ~ Queen of Wands

Todays card of the day is Queen of WandsI've been getting this one a lot recently, the Queen of Wands is someone who knows what she wants and how to get it. The black cat symbolises that she can express herself freely and confidently without worrying about what people think of her. She is undaunted by any challenge.

End of day review:
Today there was only one thing I was struggling with, and that was whether to cut the white borders off my tarot cards. I didn't want to ruin them, but thought they would look so much better. I ummed and ahhed for ages, before finally asking the cards themselves! The signs looked good so I took the plunge and spent 2 hours cutting them off. They look fantastic now and I love them :)

Todays card of the day is King of SwordsThe King of Swords is assertive and direct. He is all about using your mind to solve problems, cutting through the mental confusion. Kings are about active energy, now is the time to communicate.

End of day review:
I did a lot of communicating, my phone was going all day (which is unusual for me!) and I spent time talking to a friend. I didn't have any problems to think over yesterday, unless I didn't notice them because I solved them straight away!! :)

11/07/09 ~ 8 Pentacles

Todays card of the day is 8 of pents
The 8 of pents is all about the next step. The card shows an apprentice at work chiseling coins, the work is now easy to him and he can do it proficiently without too much effort. His hard work and perseverance is paying off. To stop becoming complacent and 'stuck in a rut' he needs to advance to the next challenge.

End of day review:
Today I went back to the gym after a couple of weeks out due to illness, it's always hard to get back into the swing of working out. I usually run 2-3 times a week, but I've not been outside for close to four weeks now.
I need to get back into a healthier way of life, but have gotten too comfortable sitting around all day! Hopefully today has been the kick-start into getting fit again.

10/07/09 ~ The Chariot

Todays card of the day is the Chariot
The Chariot is all about choices and direction. The two opposing forces (the Sphinx) pull in opposite directions and I need the strength and will to direct them to where I want to go. The card is about confidence, self-belief and perseverance. These things will help me to advance and overcome any obstacles in my path.

End of day review:
Well the Chariot was definitely the right card for today. I am having problems getting past a unit in my saxophone lessons. I didn't feel ready for my lesson today and was undecided whether to cancel and spend another week practicing, or go to the lesson and risk wasting my tutors time, and my money.
I rang him to see what he suggested and he was all for me going in, he said if I was having problems it was better to go in and he will advice me of a different way of doing it to help me advance. (I.e a new path!) He showed me a great way of working backwards through the music piece, instead of from the beginning, and it works!!
This morning I was a little down, thinking that I will never get better, but now I'm sure I will find a way if I persevere.

09/07/09 ~ The Sun

Today's card of the day is The SunThis card is all about having fun :) giving into the inner child and following your hopes and dreams. It is about bringing things into the light, thoughts and feelings. And moving on from darkness, things that have been dragging you down and keeping you from happiness.
Today will be bright, sunny, fun and carefree! I should concentrate on the good things in my life.

End of day review:
It was certainly a sunny day today! Full of laughter and fun, my inner child did come out (I was singing the hokey cokey at one point) and we took a bbq and a football up on the Moors and played games.
There were also horses up on the Moors (including a white one) with their new foals. So I guess sometimes the symbolism on the cards isn't always obscure!!

Today's Card of the Day is Ace of CupsThis card signifies intense feelings and emotions, and getting in touch with those feelings. Today I should focus on what it is I want, and how I can accomplish it. I must be more open and, like the cup, let my emotions flow over. If I learn to express myself, I can make new bonds and open new paths.

End of Day review:
Today has been a good day, I have been open and definitely happy. My partner had a bad day but I was able to spread my good mood to her and cheer her up. I also spend time with my friend and talking & laughing. Then in the evening I went to another friends house for games night, it was their daughters 3rd birthday so there was lots of laughing and fun, the birthday girl was tired because of the long day so was a little tetchy.
Definitely a day of emotions!!

Introductions

Hi! I'm Sarah :) I used to post a blog years ago, and think it's about time to start it up again.

A quick low down on me...
I'm 25, female (obviously!) I live with my dobermann and my fiancee. Our wedding is set for 12th November this year.
I've recently taken up the saxophone, something I've always wanted to learn. I love running and last week I completed my first ever race, a Half Marathon that I ran in 2 hours 17 seconds.

I've started using Tarot cards to try and sort thru the chaos that is my life and try to bring order to it!
